Photorejuvenation Treatments

Revitalize your skin with Photorejuvenation, a cutting-edge IPL skin treatment also known as a photofacial. Lasers help improve the appearance of the skin by treating wrinkles, sun damage, sagging skin, brown spots, and spider veins. Lasers are used to treat different conditions of the skin. The IPL system we use at Birem, MD Beauty & Wellness works to rejuvenate the skin. Laser treatments usually do not produce immediate results, taking several months to reveal their effects, and it might take several sessions to see results you are trying to achieve. Experience the transformative benefits of laser skin rejuvenation, a non-invasive solution for a more youthful appearance.

The IPL skin rejuvenation procedure uses high-energy pulses of light to revitalize the skin’s appearance. Treatment options include the removal of red/brown spots, age spots, birthmarks, freckles caused by the sun, spider veins, and acne scarring using this non-invasive treatment option. By stimulating collagen and elastin production, it makes the skin smoother and tighter. This treatment is also effective at removing unwanted hair. As IPL penetrates below the skin’s surface, it leaves the top layer of skin intact, so there is no recovery period after treatment. Sunspot pigments absorb light, and the blood in visible vessels absorbs light and converts it to heat. As a result of the heat, the pigment-producing cells dissolve, and the vessels shrink.

Photorejuvenation FAQ’s

The patient’s eyes are covered, and the handpiece is gently pressed against the skin as light pulses are emitted. Red or brown pigment in the skin absorbs light and converts it to heat, dissolving pigmented cells.
Avoid sun exposure or wait at least 1-2 months after the last time you were in the sun. Avoid Accutane for 12 months before treatment.
Most patients require three to six sessions; each session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes and is spaced approximately three weeks apart. Gradual improvements may be seen after each treatment, but optimal results may take several months to appear.
After treatment, you should be able to return to your regular normal activities and work the next day. Your skin may appear pink after the treatment, but this will disappear within one or two days. As you heal, you may notice a darkening of brown spots, which will gradually slough off over a period of 3-10 days. You will notice a gradual, natural-looking improvement over time. Following an IPL treatment, sunscreen should be applied regularly, and sun exposure avoided.
Taking medications that increase photosensitivity is contraindicated for IPL treatment. The use of IPL for skin rejuvenation is generally considered safe, but some risks are associated with it. Rarely, IPL skin rejuvenation may cause discoloration of skin, blisters, scars, or burns.
